Few days ago, I started watching this challenge
that has raised awareness and millions $$ all these, with many videos on
twitter, Facebook, YouTube, actually they were everywhere, it’s a TT (Trending
Topic) it is viral and it’s real.
#IceBucketChallenge and #StrikeOutALS with this
hashtags you share your video. All you need is your iPhone, yourself or the one
who’s doing the challenge and a bucket of ice or cold water; well… you know how
it works. The real point is to raise money and founds for the cause.
The story
starts with the need of attention and support for those who have been diagnosed
with the ALS disease (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)
often referred to, as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease” the Yankees baseball player who
was diagnosed in 1939 and died two years later.
This
is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affects nerve cells in the brain and
the spinal cord. Eventually, when the neurons die, the ability of the brain to
initiate and control muscle movement is lost. Patients in the later stages of
this disease may become totally paralyzed.
But
there’s someone today, willing to fight and make a difference trying to stay
positive. That someone is Pete Frates, a 29 years old former Division 1 College
athlete as the Captain of Boston College Baseball, who was recently diagnosed
with ALS. His goal is to keep the people supporting Pete and the entire family
and fund.
He
started all this movement with a simple challenge. With the goal of those who
didn´t accept the challenge, they’ll have to donate to the fund. Though I agree
more if people do the challenge and donate, both. That’ll make it better, don’t
you think?
Like
their Facebook Page, “Team FrateTrain” and support Pete.

links below are for you to donate, for you to read and learn more about this
fighter and his story.
