Some Must-Do's at California

Summer its what most of us like to call the perfect time for vacations. Just chillin’ or traveling somewhere else to do something different from our daily routines. Few days ago, I had the opportunity of a road trip to Cali and obviously, I had to make some visits to San Diego, LA, and some other places like the beach.

There are many many, many, places where you could go, but this time I’ve a different suggestion. If you’re on your way to San Francisco, well, definitely you need to stop by San Luis Obispo. 

Recomendación del día...en California

Las vacaciones de verano son los días suficientes para relajarse o dejar de lado nuestras rutinas . Hace algunos días tuve la oportunidad de viajar a California y aprovechar de sus atracciones, bahías y demás.

Claro que hay muchos lugares a donde ir, pero en mi caso uno de mis lugares preferidos siempre es la playa. Así que mi recomendación es, que si van camino a San Francisco no pueden dejar pasar San Luis Obispo. 

La maldición de ser esa persona... "rara y diferente"

Creo que no a todos les ha pasado, pero definitivamente hay muchos que podrán identificarse. Es algo común, típico, pero no por eso significa que esté bien.

Dedicado a las chicas, pero también a los chicos que puedan sentirse diferentes y a veces no valorados. No es en contra de nadie, esta vez  no es un artículo, es una anécdota de vida, sólo comparto lo que una buena amiga escribió para aquellos que se sientan raros y para aquellas chicas que creen que no valen la pena solo por ser consideradas “diferentes”… ¿en qué momento el ser diferente se convirtió en algo malo?

Hace días estuve hablando con una amiga y nos dimos cuenta que teníamos varias cosas en común y entre ellas estaba… bueno, una historia que involucraba a algún hombre… que en realidad no tenía el valor de hablarnos o simplemente ser claros… llegamos a compartir tantas cosas, que terminamos en una buena conclusión sobre ser considerada “la chica rara” sea lo que sea que esto signifique.

El tema de hoy es… bueno, un poco de amor, un poco de rechazo y un poco de rareza…

Mi amiga decidió compartirme algo escrito totalmente y solo por ella, y se lo agradezco, gracias por confiar en mí y por permitirme publicarlo para que otros puedan identificarse, ver el lado positivo de esto…o para aquellos que “les quede el chaleco”.  

Lo primero que pensé al leerlo por primera vez fue que es algo real, honesto y más claro ¡imposible!

The curse of being called...“different”

Not everyone has been through this, but definitely, there’s a whole bunch of people who does. This situation is usual, so common that it doesn’t mean its right.

This one is for the girls, and I know some guys may feel this way, that’s the truth. This one is for everyone feeling different. I’m not against anyone, this time it isn’t any article or simple post, it is the story of a friend who wanted to share some feelings with those who are different or as if you weren’t worth it… who said being different, rare, or quirky is wrong?

Few days ago I was with a friend, and we were talking about “the guy” who hasn’t been able to be clear with us, and we ended up making a conclusion about being called “different”, that not-so-common girl…  whatever this means..

The subject today is about… love, awkwardness, and rejection.

My friend, decided she wanted to share this, which was genuinely all written by her. And I just want to thank her for that, thank you for trusting me and allowing me to publish it on 20s Perspective. This is for those who are trying to see the positive side, because there truly is one. For those who may be identified or even for the ones who feel their acting like this…

What I thought when I saw this and read it the first time was: raw, true, so real and so honest…

20s Perspective, es un medio de expresión, para compartir sobre lo que veo, pienso, escucho o me gustaría que los demás supieran… pero creo que ya he hablado mucho sobre qué es y las ideas, etcétera, etcétera… Pero hasta el momento no había escrito nada sobre quién está detrás.

20sPerspective seeks to be a means of expression, to share experiences, about what I think, see, or what I wish others could know… I think that’s already clear, about the ideas and the purpose of this blog. But I’ve never said anything about the author.

In my opinion, it may be uncomfortable to talk about ourselves. This is why I asked a person who knows me well, to write some things about me. It needed to be brief and clear, something short, for those who are reading this by accident, interest or curiosity. Well.. today I’ll talk about the person behind…

March 8.The real story.

March 8, International Women’s Day. This is a day, which I can’t ignore, the question today is: Do we know the reason for this day?

I’ve been speaking with some people about it, friends and family. I actually asked them what they thought about the day, what was the reason or the story behind it. Well, here are their answers:

Más que un “feliz día”

Hoy 8 de marzo, se celebra el Día Internacional de la Mujer, y siendo mujer no puedo ser indiferente a la fecha. Pero, ¿realmente estamos conscientes del por qué de este día?

Estuve hablando del tema en diferentes lugares, con amigos y familia. Lo que me sorprendió es que la mayoría tenía suposiciones de por qué celebrar el día de la mujer pero nada muy definido. Cito algunas de las frases que escuché.

y...¿Qué tal tu San Valentín?

Puede sonar ridículo al principio, pero hay que admitirlo, quién no se ha sentido algo presionado por lo que puede o no suceder el día de San Valentín.

Febrero, el mes del amor y la amistad, mejor conocido como el mes en el que existen “las parejas y… los demás (claramente solteros, amigos, etc.)”.

Algunos ya tienen todo el plan hecho, desde un pastel, los mil y un chocolates para engordar “juntos”, la mejor cena, el perfume de moda, y le regalarán a su pareja algo “ideal” para ese día (sin olvidar los típicos peores regalos que algunos desafortunados recibirán) -Seamos sinceros-, ningún hombre quiere un osito de peluche, y a estas alturas dudo mucho que sea el regalo perfecto para tu novia o pareja.  -Hay excepciones, lo sé.

San Valentín tiene un poco de todo... 

So... What about your Valentine's Day?

Perhaps, you might think its lame at first, but hey! Let’s admit it, who hasn’t felt a little pressure on Valentine ’s Day, because of what could or won’t happen.

February, the month of love and friendship, better known as the month where we only have that one option: “Couples and… everyone else (obviously single, friends, etc.)”.

Some people have the whole thing planned, and by “planned” I mean, they start with the cupcakes, or the hundred and one chocolates to get fat “together”, the best dinner at the perfect restaurant, a nice perfume, and they will give their couple that –perfect- something(without forgetting those awful worst most common gifts some unlucky ones will receive). Let’s be honest, not a single man wants a teddy bear, and I think the ladies are just tired of it, no more teddy bears for now, no, it is not the perfect gift. -There are a few exceptions, of course.

Valentine ’s Day has all kind of people... 

Movie Time !!

Hey there! Happy new year, merry christmas, and happy everything.. I know I’m late, but who cares, we still have 353 days left to be happy and enjoy the ride while I’m still trying to improve this blog.

I’m back again and this is just getting started, new year and new movies, did you saw the golden globes awards? If not, well.. you still can wait for the big daddy of the awards, The Oscars 2015.  

Yess..The first article of 20s Perspective,  it’s about cinema, movies, films, however you want to call it. But you get me.

Cine,cine y más cine

Hey, hola de nuevo, feliz año, feliz todo.. Sé que quizá sea algo tarde para eso, pero no importa.. en realidad aún tenemos 353 días aproximadamente, para disfrutar y para trabajar y mejorar este espacio.

20s  Perspective está de vuelta y como vamos empezando, pues hablaremos de algo entretenido, ¿viste  la premiación de los Golden Globes? Bueno, si no lo hiciste en realidad tampoco creas que te pierdes de mucho, aún puedes esperar a ver lo que de verdad nos importa, es decir, El Oscar. Este año habrá mucho de qué hablar de cine así que comencemos con un breve artículo.

The power of a voice, changing the world

Sometimes I think everything around me is ordered in such a way that I will stay busy for months and wont publish anything here… Anyway, this isn’t the subject, I will like to talk about something that reminds me that life is a gift, and nothing should take that from us.

I did my research about the most influential women, what they’ve achieved and how gender equality is the issue, nowadays. All this reminded me about my problems, the typical thing, they’re not as big as they look, and there is so much more we can do, to appreciate life, and to defend those purposes, our believes.

This girl, she inspires me, just listening to her ideas and her centered speeches, how she’s able to change the world.

If it is not happening in your city, or near you, it doesn’t mean it is not actually something real, I’m talking about wars, political matters or even a natural disaster. These things happen, and people are being harmed or losing everything... so yes, it’s real.

But... ¿Who is “She”?

El poder de una voz puede cambiar el mundo

A veces, es impresionante como mi mundo se coordina para tenerme tan ocupada. Pero ese no es el tema de hoy, sino, algo que me inspira y me recuerda que nada nos impide luchar por lo que creemos.

Investigué sobre las mujeres de la actualidad, las más influyentes, y que han logrado llevar la igualdad a otro nivel, mejor dicho, al mismo nivel que los hombres. Pero entre tantas personas quise hablar de alguien que me ha marcado.

La vi en una entrevista, escuché sus discursos, su accidente, y cada vez que la veo en algún medio, me hace sentir lo mismo. Me hace recordar que mis problemas no son el fin del mundo, que hay mucho más por lo que todos podemos luchar. Me inspira escuchar su tranquilidad, pero cómo es que siendo tan joven sea tan clara para expresar sus ideas que cambian el mundo.

El hecho de que los problemas y las guerras no sucedan en tu ciudad, no significa que no estén pasando…

Entonces…¿Quién es ella?

Few days ago, I started watching this challenge that has raised awareness and millions $$ all these, with many videos on twitter, Facebook, YouTube, actually they were everywhere, it’s a TT (Trending Topic) it is viral and it’s real.

#IceBucketChallenge and #StrikeOutALS with this hashtags you share your video. All you need is your iPhone, yourself or the one who’s doing the challenge and a bucket of ice or cold water; well… you know how it works. The real point is to raise money and founds for the cause.

La verdadera historia e inspiración detrás del #IceBucketChallenge

Hace días comencé a ver vídeos en twitter, Facebook, YouTube. Aunque en realidad, estaba por todas partes, es una tendencia, es viral y es real.

#IceBucketChallenge y #StrikeOutALS con estas palabras se comparte cada uno de esos videos que supongo tú has visto: se necesita algún dispositivo con el que puedas grabar, una persona, una cubeta de agua fría o hielo y bueno, ya te imaginas que pasa después.

Este reto tiene todo un movimiento y una historia detrás. Se hace con la intención de reunir fondos y atraer la atención y el apoyo para aquellos que padecen de esclerosis lateral amiotrófica [(ELA) o en sus siglas en inglés ALS]. 

Today's Recommendation: Kayaking

Hey there!! It’s been a  while, I know, but let’s just get to the important stuff. Today I’ve got  an excellent recommendation for you to consider, in your next vacations or if you would like to spend a great weekend and be part of some adventures with your friends or family.

I had the opportunity of going to this… certain place. I’m the type of person that looks for something different, not the typical vacations or the same things. That’s one of the reasons that led me to this place near the beach and to discover their ecological and recreational activities… If you’ve got some place near you that has this activities, then do not waste your time and go check it out.

Today’s recommendation it’s about kayaking.

Hola de nuevo, hace tiempo que no he publicado algún artículo, muy mal, lo sé. Pero dejemos eso de lado y vayamos a lo interesante. Hoy te tengo una súper recomendación para unas vacaciones, o si quieres disfrutar de un buen fin de semana y haciendo algo diferente.

Tuve la oportunidad de conocer este lugar y realizar algunas de sus actividades. Si te encuentras en Sonora, sería una excelente opción o si en tu localidad tienen algo parecido a esto, deberías ir y ver qué tal…
